He was awarded an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship to pursue his postdoctoral research (2006-2007) in the research group of Prof. Würthner at the University of Würzburg in Germany. Subsequently he worked as a research associate (2007-2013) in Würzburg. Since 2014, he is professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University.
